When the Dorchester approached Studio 104 to design a quirky uniform for their new Parcafé coffee shop we were hooked immediately. The brief……”Exclusive Mayfair meets artisan Shoreditch”. Danielle Windsor our Senior Designer said, “Coffee has become an essential part of everyday life, so I wanted to create a timeless and authentic range with a contemporary feel. The Parcafé‘s interior has a distinct colour palette of yellows, greys and browns, I have incorporated this within the design. There is a strong attention to detail with artisan features within each garment including a bespoke melange weave, tan bridal leather and brass hardware.
My favourite piece of the uniform for the Dorchester’s Parcafé coffee shop uniform is the luxury apron. We commissioned a UK expert apron maker to produce this statement piece. John was really impressed and proceeded to march the models around the Dorchester on our presentation day. I also love the new beige colour of the chinos. The colour goes perfectly with the bespoke yellow of the A La Morzocco coffee machine.
After presenting the coffee shop uniform proto garments to John and his team Isabelle and I were invited over by John to 45 Park Lane for champagne and popcorn. We were buzzing. So much hard work went into making the garments practical yet sharp that we felt relieved. Sign off on the spot. What a result and then to top it all off, Lionel Richie walked past. I love my job. What a day.
Bye for now
